What “student” usually means
A fare filed for a defined age band and/or a valid student ID, sometimes sold via specialist consolidators. Proof is checked at ticketing or at the gate. If you cannot show it, the fare can be cancelled or repriced. We will tell you which proof the supplier wants before you pay.
When it beats a normal ticket
- Stays of several months.
- An inbound date that might move after exam results.
- A second checked bag that would have been a surprise fee on a basic public fare.
When it does not
A two-week Christmas visit is often cheaper as a standard leisure ticket. We will send both if the gap is real, and one if it is not. We will not invent a student discount to win the lead.
One-way immigrants and “student” folklore
If you are relocating, say so. That is a different fare conversation (one-way, extra baggage, maybe no return). Calling it a student ticket because you once had a .edu email wastes a day.
