Independent briefing · Not an official airline page

Cathay Pacific is still a Hong Kong hub airline. The city is the connection, not a footnote.

Hub Hong Kong International (HKG). Oneworld. Cathay (Asia Miles evolved into the current membership). Regional tags and Oneworld partners can appear on the same PNR.

CX HKG Oneworld

Cathay Pacific names, livery and loyalty marks belong to that carrier. Travelobuds is not affiliated with Cathay Pacific. Read the airline disclaimer.

Why HKG shows up

For Australia–Europe, US–Southeast Asia, and a lot of India/Japan combinations, Hong Kong is still a rational hinge. Transit rules and visa requirements are yours to check; we will not ticket a connection you cannot legally airside. If you are unsure, ask before we issue.

Cabins

Cathay’s business and premium economy products are a reason people ask for CX by name. Economy is still economy. If the seat is the point, say the cabin on the form rather than hoping we read your mind from “Cathay”.

Oneworld

British Airways, Qatar, Japan Airlines, American and others combine with CX in ways that are excellent and ways that dump you in the wrong terminal. We list every sector.

What we cannot do

We cannot restore a lapsed membership tier or apply a discount code from a credit card portal you did not mention. Send the membership number if credit matters.
