Which hub
Frankfurt is the long-haul factory and the place where winter weather and volume show up on the departure board. Munich is often the more humane connection if the network supports it. If you have a Star Alliance onward (United, Air Canada, Singapore, Thai, Air India, Turkish depending on the year), the hub choice is the quote.
Group carriers
A “Lufthansa” price that operates as SWISS into ZRH or Austrian into VIE can be the better ticket. It can also land you in the wrong country for the hotel. We will write the operating carrier on the option.
Basic fares and status
Light/basic products on European sectors have taught Miles & More members unhappy lessons about bags and seat selection. Long-haul fare families are their own chart. If status should waive something, send the number; do not assume the GDS knows you are Senator.
